James Yancey Jones (September 30, 1940 – September 4, 2023), known professionally as Tail Dragger, was an American Chicago blues singer. He performed for over five decades and gained a legendary reputation in the low-light blues clubs of Chicago.
His moniker was given to him by the legendary Howlin' Wolf, due to Jones's habit of showing up late to his musical performances. He was widely respected for his theatrical stage presence, often crawling on the floor mimicking a snake during his raw blues delivery.
